The Bloody Mary shrimp belongs to the Cherry shrimp species. It is characterised by a particularly intense opaque wine-red coloration and often also by a rather short rostrum. This colour morph was first bred out of the Chocolate Sakura in Taiwan. This colour form does not occur in nature. The females reach a size of up to 3cm, the males remain somewhat smaller.

Please be aware: The Red Onyx can be mistakenly think they are chocolate shrimp. But they are NOT, you can see the dark red over blue base body if you shine a torch at them.

Because Red Onyx is blue base therefore with shipping stress, they will show blue on arrival. However they will colour back up

But they are not. You can shine a torch at the shrimp and you will see the true dark green colour. This specific Dark Green Jade is only suitable if you have a BRIGHT light aquarium.

Our latest hand picked edition of Bloody Mary Shrimp.  The difference than the normal Bloody Mary is that the shell body's thickness now is thick - it is now opaque and in deep maroon red colour.

PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE VERY DEEP MAROON RED COLOUR, which can be mistakenly think as chocolate shrimp. But they are not. You would need bright light to be able to see their real colour.

These red bolt/ peach bolt are offspring thrown out from our Red Boa, Red Galaxy Tiger, Red Steel breeding tanks. They do carry the high end gene so you can re-cross them or simply keep them on their own to enhance the peach/ orange body colour.

Amano is originated from Japan, introduced into the hobby by Takashi Amano (past owner of ADA) in the early 1980s. The shrimp feeds primarily on algae, effective cleaning algae when present in sufficient numbers
